Sevilla man kills his drug-addict son after years of abuse

The man threw his son's chopped up body into the local river.Villanueva del Río y Minas - Archive Photo A Sevilla man, believed to be in his 70’s, fed up with being mistreated by his 28 year old drug addict son, has today, Monday, killed him, chopped up the body and thrown it into the Huéznar river in Villanueva del Río y Minas, Sevilla. The father had denounced his son on several occasions for aggression over recent years. Several local residents, driving in a car behind the father, alerted the Guardia Civil when they saw the father transporting the remains on a moped, and noticing that a foot was hanging out of one of the rubbish bags he was carrying. Later a municipal employee found the moped abandoned, and the odour took him to the body two metres from the river. He called the Guardia Civil. The father was arrested in his house by the Guardia Civil and did not resist arrest. He is now being questioned. Mayor of the locality, Francisco Barrera, said both the father and his son were very well known. The victim because of his criminal record linked to his drug addiction, and father for the Calvary he suffered at the hands of his son.
